Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests show the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for information.
An important official said the incident made him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in 2020.
