'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues battle with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the thrilling final moments of his team's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful shot from outside the box, and his teammate quickly converted the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result capped an unbelievable comeback given Swansea had trailed 2-0 during the latter period. During the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory earned a fourth-round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when the underdogs took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right defensive wing after they changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way Orient attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just perform consistently," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they know how to dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're all right and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and concentration just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a popular figure across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly replicated that in south Wales. At the London club he joined forces once more with the coach, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a temporary move at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without much intensity. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for his team and nation, performing well for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including two matches games against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

It has been an incredible journey for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his dad, Stuart, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

His sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "That proved to be a long trip and it was freezing," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, the academy prospects trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I reached the point where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I felt I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, the drivers, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to interact with the lads but I'm planning to be the next one out of the minibus and driving. His teammate is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on London's Central line after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
