Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard court after spring of that year.

The win also means he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended 4 initial break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
